The Washington Wizards are off to a decent start, one that could position them for some real growth in the league.

The Washington Wizards have started their 2026-27 NBA season with a 4-3 record to sit fourth in the Eastern Conference. Writer Ian Goodwillie highlights this drastic turnaround following a 17-65 finish last season, crediting a roster overhaul that brought in star additions Anthony Davis and Trae Young.
Goodwillie notes that Davis is averaging 23.4 points and 9.3 rebounds, while Young leads the league with 9.6 assists per game. Young players Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George, and rookie A.J. Dybantsa are also providing significant contributions on both ends of the floor.
