The Baltimore Orioles have quickly become a major force in the international market, and their reported connection to one of the top prospects in the 2027 class shows how far Baltimore has come.

The Baltimore Orioles are expected to sign Dominican outfielder Antonio Figueroa from the 2027 international signing class, according to a report by Baseball America. Figueroa, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect who turned 16 in August, is projected to command a signing bonus north of $1 million and is regarded as having some of the top power potential in his class.
Nicholas Stevens of Birds Watcher writes that the connection reflects Baltimore's growing strength and aggression in the international market under Director of International Scouting Koby Perez. The article notes that while handshake deals continue for 2027 prospects, uncertainty remains regarding whether an international draft might be implemented before those classes can officially sign.
