Real Madrid is closing in on a permanent deal to sign Manchester United prospect JJ Gabriel, beating out interest from Barcelona and Arsenal. The 16-year-old forward has already traveled to the Spanish capital for individual training sessions as Los Blancos work to finalize the transfer ahead of the January window.
Gabriel is expected to initially join Real Madrid's reserve side, Real Madrid Castilla. In interviews ahead of his imminent departure from Manchester United, the English teenager confirmed his choice of Madrid over Barcelona and stated that his ultimate ambition is to win the Ballon d'Or.
