The Golden State Warriors have emptied Kristaps Porzingis’ locker after the center decided to step away from basketball to focus on his health. Porzingis, who has been away from the team since reporting health concerns prior to training camp, clarified that his decision is not a permanent retirement. Reporter Joseph Dycus observed the cleared locker ahead of Golden State's game on November 7.
Porzingis is owed $23 million in guaranteed money, though Shams Charania reported the team halted salary payments because he is not currently rendering services. Golden State reportedly expects his tenure to end and could potentially use his expiring contract in a trade before the February 11 deadline.
