NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar addressed his suspension ahead of the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, publicly accepting the penalties issued by Spire Motorsports and NASCAR. Hocevar admitted to intentionally brake-checking Austin Cindric multiple times during the recent race at Martinsville Speedway. He expressed regret, apologizing to Cindric, Team Penske, and Spire Motorsports for actions he called embarrassing and disrespectful.
In addition to the team-issued suspension, NASCAR fined Hocevar $100,000 and docked him 25 driver points for behavioral code of conduct violations. Hocevar took full personal responsibility for the disciplinary action, confirming Spire Motorsports was not pressured by NASCAR to suspend him. While he pledged to reduce unnecessary incidents, he maintained that he will not abandon his aggressive racing style moving forward.
