Aston Villa director of football operations Damian Vidagany has hit out at Roy Keane's verdict on Manchester United's late equaliser.

Aston Villa director of football operations Damian Vidagany criticized pundit Roy Keane's view on Patrick Dorgu's late equalizer for Manchester United in a 4-4 draw. Keane argued on Sky Sports that football is a contact sport after United goalkeeper Senne Lammens appeared to impede Villa shot-stopper Zion Suzuki. Vidagany responded on social media, claiming clubs were told by referees that pushing or unbalancing goalkeepers in the six-yard box would not be allowed.
Villa manager Unai Emery stormed down the tunnel following the stoppage-time goal, later explaining his frustration stemmed from conceding the late lead. While Emery noted that Suzuki must adapt to Premier League physical play, Vidagany maintained that the rules regarding goalkeeper obstruction must be respected. Former Villa winger Ashley Young agreed with Keane that there was not enough contact to disallow the goal.
