Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Roman Pavlyuchenko is currently working as a striker coach for Russian side Rodina-2 after retiring from professional football in October 2022. The Russian international recalled leaving Spurs in February 2012 to secure regular playing time for the European Championship, despite Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy attempting to convince him to stay during talks in Levy's kitchen.
Pavlyuchenko admitted he later regretted leaving Tottenham, where he scored 42 goals in 113 appearances. After his departure, he represented several Russian clubs, including Lokomotiv Moscow, Kuban Krasnodar, and Znamya Noginsk, before transitioning to coaching in April 2024 to apply drills previously taught by former Spurs coach Les Ferdinand.
