Greb went on to win the world middleweight championship in 1923 and also held the American light heavyweight title, building a Hall of Fame record.
Brennan’s strong showing, even in defeat, maintained his status as a legitimate challenger in the heavyweight division. He earned his own world title opportunity against Dempsey in 1920, taking the champion into the 12th round before being stopped. With no known film of the Greb-Brennan fight in existence, newspaper accounts remain the primary record of the event.
