Shakur Stevenson has renewed his push to face Devin Haney at a 144-pound catchweight following the withdrawal of Keyshawn Davis from a scheduled WBO title bout. Stevenson issued public challenges on social media, reopening negotiations for the potential bout.
Stevenson has spent months pressing for a catchweight rather than competing at the full 147-pound welterweight limit. Negotiations stalled earlier this summer while Haney prepared to fulfill a mandatory WBO obligation against Davis. With the WBO confirming Davis’s withdrawal, the primary obstacle preventing direct talks between the camps has been removed.
Stevenson wasted little time reissuing his terms directly to Haney on social media. He posted: “LETS FIGHT LETS FIGHT LETS FIGHT #144 👑”
Shortly afterwards, Stevenson expanded on his callout by addressing Haney and his father, Bill Haney. Stevenson wrote: “Yoooo @BillHaney77 @Realdevinhaney Let’s go I’m here still saying the same thing I been saying call my bluff now Nick and Dana is waiting we will do business with DAZN too #144 LETS SCRAP!!! #HIM 👑”
