New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is officially active for Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. After missing 13 games in 2025 with a torn ACL, the Pro Bowler passed pregame evaluations to bolster quarterback Jaxson Dart’s offence.
The decision came down to the wire on Sunday evening. Speaking prior to kick-off, ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted: “The big injury question centers around Malik Nabers, who’s status for tonight’s game remains murky at best,” adding that ” Giants elevated 2 wide receivers to the 53-man roster on Saturday but have not gotten clarity from Nabers, who has said he is leaving whether or not he plays to God, and he wants God to guide him if he will go tonight against the Cowboys.”
Nabers worked relentlessly throughout the week to prepare for his return.
Providing deeper insight into the team’s decision, NFL on Prime’s James Palmer shared details of the pregame workout. “A little context on Nabers being active tonight,” Palmer posted, reporting: “I was told during the week that he was working his ass off and everyday was better than the previous day. But even at the end of the week it still was up in the air. They watched him pregame and that pushed it over the edge.”
His availability provides a major offensive boost for New York in this crucial division clash against Dallas. Nabers dominated as a rookie in 2024, recording 109 receptions for 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games. However, his second season ended abruptly in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers—coincidentally the first career start for quarterback Jaxson Dart. Having their chief playmaker back on the field changes the dynamic of the Giants’ attack. His presence forces immediate defensive coverage adjustments, opening up room for secondary options while giving Dart a reliable, explosive target under the bright lights.
With secondary wideout elevations already secured on Saturday, New York now features needed depth across the receiving room. For Dart, having his primary receiver active transforms the offensive game plan for Sunday night.
