Julio César Chávez stopped Meldrick Taylor in the eighth round of their long-delayed rematch at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September

Julio César Chávez stopped Meldrick Taylor in the eighth round of their rematch on September 17, 1994, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Billed as "Unfinished Business," the fight served as a sequel to their controversial 1990 bout. Chávez dropped Taylor with a left hand in the eighth round, and referee Mills Lane stopped the contest at 1:41 after Taylor failed to return fire.
Taylor had struggled with weight cutting and prior knockout losses before the rematch, which visibly impacted his stamina and punch resistance. Despite showing early hand speed, Taylor repeatedly traded at close range, allowing Chávez to work the body and secure the victory. The undercard featured Félix Trinidad's knockout of Yori Boy Campas.
