Scott Hebert’s Dramatic Day Leads to Fourth Michigan PGA Match Play Title

Scott Hebert won the Michigan PGA Match Play Championship for the fourth time on Wednesday at Eagle Eye Golf Club. The 57-year-old Traverse City Golf & Country Club professional defeated Ryan Lenahan of Walnut Creek Country Club 4 and 2 in the final match. The victory earned Hebert a $3,000 winner's check and marked his 19th career major championship title.
Hebert reached the final after a dramatic 2 and 1 semifinal victory over Brian Cairns, which featured a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th hole. Lenahan reached the final by defeating Matt Thompson 1-up in his morning semifinal match, but stated he felt fatigued during the afternoon final against Hebert.
