The latest instalment of English football’s most intense rivalry is upon us
Millwall and West Ham will renew their rivalry at The Den in a lunchtime Championship match, marking their first meeting in approximately 14 years. A major Metropolitan Police operation has been organized to prevent supporter trouble during the fixture. West Ham enter the game aiming to extend their lead atop the Championship table, while Alex Neil's Millwall side sit in mid-table.
The two clubs have not played each other since the 2011/12 Championship season. Following a 0-0 draw at The Den in September 2011, West Ham won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Upton Park in February 2012 with goals from Carlton Cole and Winston Reid overcoming a Liam Trotter equalizer.
