New Bundesliga leaders Freiburg rubbing shoulders with Arsenal and Barcelona

Freiburg have moved to the top of the Bundesliga table after securing a perfect start to the season with six consecutive competitive victories. Julian Schuster's side recently defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach 5-0 at the Europa-Park Stadion, placing them above Borussia Dortmund on goal difference. Alongside Arsenal and Barcelona, Freiburg are one of only three teams in Europe's top five leagues to maintain a 100 percent winning record in all competitions.

Freiburg's impressive run features 11 different goalscorers and a strong reliance on set-pieces, having already scored nine goals from dead-ball situations. Yannik Engelhardt and Igor Matanović both scored braces in the recent victory, while Maximilian Eggestein also found the net. Young attacker Derry Scherhant and left-back Jordy Makengo have both stepped into key starting roles during this successful period.
