Luka Doncic is expected to return to Los Angeles on September 20 following an extended offseason stay in Slovenia. The Lakers star has been working individually in Ljubljana with trainer Anze Macek. His return comes eight days before the Lakers hold their official media day on September 28, with training camp scheduled to begin the following day.
Doncic is recovering from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain that sidelined him during the playoffs last season. To prioritize his rehabilitation, Doncic declined to play for the Slovenian national team this summer. He also hosted an informal minicamp in Slovenia with several of his Lakers teammates to prepare for the upcoming season.
