The Los Angeles Lakers takeover is not even complete, but Josh Kushner is already looking years ahead. He still needs to sell his minority stake in the Miami Heat before the deal can move forward under NBA ownership rules. Yet…

Josh Kushner and Bob Iger are aiming to nearly triple the valuation of the Los Angeles Lakers within 10 years. The ambitious financial projection was included in an investor presentation circulated by Kushner's investment firm, Thrive Capital. The group recently agreed to acquire the Lakers from Mark Walter at a reported $12.5 billion valuation, targeting a future valuation of over $30 billion.
To move forward with the acquisition, Kushner must first sell his minority stake in the Miami Heat to comply with NBA ownership rules. The group's growth strategy for the Lakers reportedly centers on international expansion, stronger sponsorship revenue, and larger media deals. However, the transaction is currently being contested by Lakers governor Jeanie Buss, who represents the Buss family's remaining 17.8% stake.
