The Newport-based Dragons are preparing for the 2026-27 United Rugby Championship season under head coach Filo Tiatia. The team is looking to improve on last year's 15th-place league finish, where they recorded only three wins and four draws. Despite their domestic struggles, the Dragons enjoyed a strong European campaign last season, reaching the semi-finals of the EPCR Challenge Cup.
Dragons will navigate the new season without back-rower Aaron Wainwright, who departed for Leicester Tigers after nine years with the region. Key players for the upcoming campaign include back-to-back Player of the Season Aneurin Owen and lock Ben Carter. New signing Ere Enari, a Samoa international scrum-half, joins the squad from Super Rugby champions the Hurricanes.
