Why JJ Gabriel joining Barcelona would be a Man Utd nightmare

Manchester United wonderkid JJ Gabriel is reportedly in talks to join Barcelona after formally requesting to have his club registration cancelled. The 15-year-old requested the free transfer after growing frustrated with his lack of a first-team pathway at Old Trafford. The decision came after he was left out of the senior squad for a Champions League match against Sabah.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has emphasized that the youngster's well-being is paramount, even if it means letting him leave. A move abroad would be a significant financial blow to United, as they would reportedly only receive £300,000 in training compensation compared to a much higher fee from a domestic transfer.
