Alex Pereira’s longtime coach Plinio Cruz is done watching from the sidelines. Now, the veteran coach is officially getting back in the fight game, and he’s not easing into it. Instead, the 40-year-old is jumping straight into a heavyweight title…

Alex Pereira's longtime coach Plinio Cruz is scheduled to return to active competition to fight for the Misfits Boxing heavyweight championship. The 40-year-old veteran coach will face Chase DeMoor on October 10 at the Copper Box Arena in London. Cruz confirmed the upcoming title bout on social media after months of uncertainty surrounding the matchup.
The fight was originally scheduled to take place earlier, but it was delayed after DeMoor reportedly suffered an eye injury during sparring. Despite the initial setback and postponement, Misfits Boxing officially confirmed the rescheduled heavyweight title fight on September 18.
