Liverpool are reportedly leading the Premier League interest in Monaco's 22-year-old midfielder Lamine Camara. The Reds have held initial discussions with the Senegal international's representatives and conducted background checks regarding his financial demands. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea are also credited with interest in the midfielder, who is being considered for a potential permanent transfer in January.
Chelsea previously came close to signing Camara before the summer deadline for around £47 million, but Monaco pulled out of the deal. Monaco's asking price for the midfielder has now reportedly risen to approximately £60 million. Liverpool scouts have watched Camara in person, and the club is looking to strengthen its midfield under manager Andoni Iraola.
