Yuki Tsunoda has revealed that trying to replicate teammate Max Verstappen's car setup was his biggest mistake during the 2025 Formula 1 season. Tsunoda joined Red Bull Racing after replacing Liam Lawson, who was dismissed after only two races. While Verstappen finished as the championship runner-up, Tsunoda struggled and finished 17th in the driver standings.
Following his difficult campaign, Red Bull replaced Tsunoda with Isack Hadjar for the 2026 season, moving the Japanese driver into a reserve role. Reflecting on the decision, Tsunoda stated that while he was disappointed not to be driving, he had no regrets because he gave his absolute maximum effort during the season.
