A Lakers trade pitch lands a 41% 3-point shooter while sending Jarred Vanderbilt to the Rockets in a proposed three-team deal.

A proposed three-team trade pitch on FanSpo would send Detroit Pistons shooter Duncan Robinson to the Los Angeles Lakers. In this hypothetical deal, Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt would head to the Houston Rockets, while the Pistons and Rockets work out a deal involving restricted free agent Jalen Duren. The trade framework is designed to resolve a contract stalemate between Detroit and Duren.
Robinson shot 41 percent from three-point range last season and carries a cap hit of approximately $16 million for the 2026-27 season. Acquiring him would push the Lakers into the luxury tax and the first-apron hard cap, but it would address the team's spacing issues. Duren, an All-Star center, remains unsigned deep into the offseason as Detroit is reportedly reluctant to offer him a maximum contract.
