The New Orleans Saints have elevated wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. from the practice squad to the gameday roster ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The move comes as star wide receiver Chris Olave is listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Head coach Kellen Moore and the Saints are preparing to face a high-powered Ravens team led by quarterback Lamar Jackson.
While Austin's elevation could serve as depth in case Olave cannot play, it is his second call-up of the season. Austin was also elevated in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions when Olave was fully healthy. NFL rules allow a player only three practice squad elevations per season before requiring a full contract.
