David Almansa crashed out of the lead at the Moto3 Austrian Grand Prix, dropping him to third in the championship standings. The Intact GP rider had dominated Friday practice and led the race before crashing into Turn 2 shortly after setting a new lap record.
Máximo Quiles capitalized on Almansa's crash to secure his ninth victory of the 2026 season, extending his championship lead to 306 points. Álvaro Carpe finished to take second in the standings with 175 points, just one point ahead of Almansa, while Quiles could secure the Moto3 World Championship at the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.
