The Atlanta Falcons reportedly do not plan to cut quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, despite rumors suggesting a potential release. Tagovailoa, who signed a one-year veteran's minimum contract worth $1.2 million, missed the start of the season after suffering an oblique injury in practice. Michael Penix Jr. is expected to be the starter once both quarterbacks return to full health.
While the Falcons intend to keep Tagovailoa for now, insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter report that he could be a trade candidate before the November 10 deadline. In the meantime, backup quarterback Cooper Rush has been starting for Atlanta while Tagovailoa and Penix recover from their respective injuries.
