Argentina pushes for F1 return as Buenos Aires circuit undergoes major upgrade

Argentina is actively working to bring Formula 1 back to Buenos Aires through a major redevelopment of the Autódromo Óscar y Juan Gálvez. The circuit is already scheduled to host MotoGP in 2027, but the ongoing project has been expanded to meet the FIA Grade 1 standard required to host an F1 Grand Prix. Construction crews are currently working on the final section ahead of the main straight.

Jorge Macri, the Head of Government of Buenos Aires, confirmed that the investments are designed to position the city to host both MotoGP and F1. The venue is undergoing extensive upgrades, including new asphalt, drainage systems, and service roads. While Argentina is not yet confirmed on the F1 calendar, the project aims to prepare the venue for a potential future return.
