Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has strongly disagreed with manager Martin O'Neill's assessment of Celtic's 1-0 home defeat to Rangers. While O'Neill argued that the Premiership derby at Celtic Park was a tight match, Sutton insisted there was a massive gulf between the two sides and that Rangers were superior in every department.
Ryan Naderi scored the only goal of the game in the first half to secure the victory for Rangers, cutting Celtic's lead at the top of the table to two points. The defeat marks Celtic's third consecutive loss across all competitions, following recent defeats in the Premier Sports Cup and the Europa League.
