Former Lakers Guard Makes Major Decision on Next NBA Team

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent has reportedly declined an opportunity to join the New York Knicks for training camp. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Vincent chose to wait for a more secure roster opportunity rather than enter a crowded competition for a single roster spot in New York. The Knicks instead signed several other veterans to Exhibit 9 contracts to compete for the position.

Vincent previously signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Lakers in July 2023 after a successful run with the Miami Heat. However, his tenure in Los Angeles was severely limited by knee injuries and subsequent arthroscopic surgery, restricting him to just 11 regular-season games in his first year.
