Everton hold firm on striker stance as Icardi and Martial remain available

Everton reportedly plan to wait until the January transfer window to sign another striker, despite Mauro Icardi and Anthony Martial remaining available as free agents. Manager David Moyes was left with Thierno Barry as his only senior centre-forward after Beto joined Fiorentina and a proposed £40 million move for Folarin Balogun collapsed late in the summer window.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown indicated that Moyes prefers to reassess the position in January rather than sign a free agent who cannot make an immediate impact. Meanwhile, Barry has scored five goals in all competitions since joining Everton, including the winning goal against Ipswich Town.
