Toronto Blue Jays Announced Brett Bateman Injury During Brutal Orioles Loss

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that outfielder Brett Bateman suffered a right hip injury during a 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. Bateman was removed from the game in the second inning after falling to the ground. Precautionary X-rays performed on his hip were negative for a fracture.

Following the game, Blue Jays manager John Schneider reported that Bateman's right hip was tender. However, Schneider noted that the team does not believe there is any injury to Bateman's ankle or knee. Pete Alonso hit two home runs for the Orioles to help secure their comeback victory.
