Hall of Fame coach Doc Rivers is officially joining NBC Sports as a game analyst for the 2026–27 NBA season. He will broadcast across NBC, Peacock, and NBCSN after retiring from coaching. This appointment marks the first time a Hall of Fame coach and his son will work as broadcast analysts for the same network's NBA coverage. His son, Austin Rivers, joined NBC Sports as an analyst in 2025. Doc Rivers previously rejected a broadcasting offer from NBC 30 years ago in 1996.
