Fan-captured footage from Rangers' 1-0 victory over Celtic revealed manager Derek McInnes stepping in to protect winger Djeidi Gassama. During the match at Celtic Park, the 23-year-old fell into an advertising board and was pushed by opposing Celtic supporters before McInnes intervened to pull him safely away from the crowd.
The away triumph made McInnes the third Rangers manager in history to defeat Celtic in his first two games in charge, alongside Graeme Souness and Walter Smith. Gassama contributed significantly to the victory alongside James Penrice, hitting the woodwork in the 36th minute against Martin O'Neill's side.
