Former Sharks Defenseman Waived by Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks placed defenseman Derrick Pouliot on waivers on Monday with the intention of assigning him to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. Pouliot, a former eighth-overall draft pick, spent time with the San Jose Sharks organization during the 2022-23 season.

During his lone season in San Jose, Pouliot appeared in eight NHL contests and logged 37 games in the AHL. He later had a brief five-game NHL stint with the Dallas Stars before returning to the AHL, where he is now entering his second consecutive season with Rockford.
