Tottenham face Barcelona fight for signing – Spurs offer already made

Tottenham Hotspur face growing competition from Barcelona to sign 19-year-old Brazilian defender Arthur Dias from Athletico Paranaense. Spurs previously had a €21m (£18.2m) permanent transfer bid for 80% of his rights rejected during the summer, with the Brazilian club holding out for roughly €30m (£26m).

Barcelona's head of scouting, João Amaral, recently attended Athletico's 2-1 win over Bahia to scout the center-back in person. The youngster, who also earned his first senior Brazil call-up under Carlo Ancelotti, is reportedly tracked by Newcastle United, Brentford, and Nottingham Forest as well.
