Jackson Hastings not given up on St Helens stay as agent talks revealed

St Helens half-back Jackson Hastings has revealed he has not completely given up hope of securing a new contract to stay with the club in 2027. Despite the Super League side announcing earlier this month that he would be released at the end of the season, Hastings confirmed that his management is currently speaking with incoming head coach Kevin Walters about a potential deal.

Hastings admitted on the Nova Sport podcast that a contract extension remains unlikely at this stage. St Helens have already signed half-back Sean O'Sullivan for next season and hold multiple existing options in the role, meaning Hastings could become an unrestricted free agent alongside other off-contract half-backs.
