Celtic and Rangers tried to sign Fares Ghedjemis during the summer, but none of them were successful in their attempts.

Frosinone sporting director Regno Castagnini confirmed that both Celtic and Rangers missed out on signing winger Fares Ghedjemis due to a takeover at the Italian club. Although the player reportedly wanted to leave, the arrival of the Clara Vista investment fund eliminated Frosinone's need to sell players, leading to the decision to retain the attacker.
Following the collapsed pursuit, Celtic instead completed the permanent signing of winger Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo. Frosinone are now actively working on a new contract for Ghedjemis, who remains a valued contributor despite not yet registering a goal or assist this season.
