Joshua Van suffered a shoulder injury early in his camp prior to UFC 331, and he recalled not being able to lift his right arm.

UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van revealed that he suffered a significant shoulder tear five weeks prior to his title defense against Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 331. Speaking to Dominick Cruz on the "Love & War" podcast, Van detailed how landing awkwardly on his shoulder severely hindered his training camp and temporarily prevented him from lifting his arm.
Van received a stem cell injection from the UFC medical staff and had to cut his recovery timeline short to prepare in time. Despite only resuming sparring two weeks before the bout and remaining hesitant to throw his right hand, Van went on to defeat Pantoja by unanimous decision.
