Hibs board urged to minimise risk in manager search as pundit would be ‘astonished’ if club icon is overlooked

Pundit Michael Stewart has urged Hibernian sporting director Malky Mackay to choose a low-risk option to replace departed manager David Gray. Speaking on Premier Sports' Scottish Football Social Club podcast, Stewart advocated for former manager Neil Lennon, currently managing Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic, describing him as a safe choice.

Gray was dismissed following a two-year managerial stint, prompting the Easter Road club to seek a successor. Other Scottish-based candidates reportedly linked with the role include Stenhousemuir manager Marvin Bartley and St Johnstone boss Simo Valakari.
