DETROIT -- Not since the 2019 season has a Nationals player driven in 100 runs. CJ Abrams reached that mark on Tuesday in the Nationals’ 3-1 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park.
Washington Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams surpassed the 100-RBI mark for the season during a 3-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday at Comerica Park. Abrams hit two home runs off pitcher Drew Anderson, including a go-ahead two-run shot in the seventh inning, to bring his season totals to 33 home runs, 102 RBIs, and 33 stolen bases.
Abrams became the 12th player in Nationals history to reach 100 RBIs in a season and the first since Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto accomplished the feat in 2019. He is also the second player in franchise history to record a 30-homer, 30-steal campaign, joining Alfonso Soriano from the 2006 season.
