Wigan Warriors’ young stars help Lancashire to victory in first Academy Origin clash

Lancashire defeated Yorkshire 30-14 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in the opening match of the two-game Academy Origin series. Coached by Wigan Warriors' Shane Eccles, Lancashire secured the victory with all six of their tries scored by Wigan players. Sam Dickenson crossed the try line twice, alongside scores from club teammates Zak Bielecki, Harrison Pearson, Charlie Jeffrey-Scott, and Tom Farrimond.

Yorkshire mounted a comeback from 14-0 down to level the match at 14-14 through tries from Bailey Lund, Corey Abraham, and Lewis Jagger. Lancashire responded with three unanswered tries to secure the win ahead of game two at Castleford Tigers' OneBore Stadium.
