James Morrison backs ‘immense’ West Brom defender recover from derby nightmare

West Bromwich Albion head coach James Morrison has backed defender Nat Phillips to bounce back following a costly error against Wolverhampton Wanderers. A misplaced pass by Phillips allowed Wolves attacker Fer Lopez to score the only goal in Albion's 1-0 derby loss at Molineux on Sunday.

Morrison praised the 29-year-old center-back for taking accountability, noting that he had performed exceptionally well in previous weeks. Phillips currently leads West Brom with 50 total clearances in the Championship this season, averaging 7.1 per 90 minutes.
