Aston Villa star struggles with rib injury – Out of NT group training

Aston Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki missed full group training with Japan in Chiba City due to a rib injury suffered with his club. The 24-year-old was placed on an individual training program ahead of Japan's upcoming friendly against Uruguay.

Suzuki played the full 90 minutes in Aston Villa's 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on September 19 before joining the national squad. Japan manager Hajime Moriyasu may need to consider alternative options in goal, while Unai Emery's side monitors the situation.
