Martin O’Neill ally demands emergency Celtic board appointment before boss makes ‘wrong’ exit call

Former Celtic player Stiliyan Petrov has urged the club's board to appoint a director of football or head of recruitment to support manager Martin O'Neill. The 74-year-old manager is currently weighing up his future and considering walking away during the international break following three consecutive defeats, including a loss to rivals Rangers.

While Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson expressed support for O'Neill, Petrov warned that parting ways with the manager right now would be the wrong decision.
