Report: Nuggets eyeing intriguing guard to shore up depth behind Jamal Murray

The Denver Nuggets are reportedly considered a prime suitor to sign point guard Ryan Nembhard on a potential two-way contract if he is waived by the Charlotte Hornets, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line. Denver is looking to reinforce backcourt depth behind Jamal Murray. Charlotte currently holds 18 players on standard contracts and must trim its roster down to 15 before the regular season begins.

Nembhard has moved between multiple teams during the offseason. The Dallas Mavericks exercised his $2.15 million option before trading him to the Atlanta Hawks in July. Atlanta subsequently traded Nembhard, Buddy Hield, and cash considerations to Charlotte for Dorian Finney-Smith. During the 2025-26 season, Nembhard averaged 6.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game.
