Albert Pujols was apparently trying to secure another bag from the Los Angeles Angels. The legendary former MLB slugger Pujols was in talks last offseason about potentially becoming the new manager of the Angels.
Former MLB star Albert Pujols reportedly made significant demands during managerial talks with the Los Angeles Angels last offseason. According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, Pujols sought a $6 million annual salary and full control of operations. Pujols, who also interviewed with the San Diego Padres, would have become one of the highest-paid managers in Major League Baseball.
The Angels declined the demands and ultimately hired Kurt Suzuki to manage the team on a short-term contract. Pujols previously played for the Angels from 2012 to 2021 and held a post-retirement personal services agreement with the franchise.
