The NBA's investigation into the Milwaukee Bucks' four-year, $64 million contract with Gary Trent Jr. is ongoing, an NBA spokesperson confirmed. The law firm Hecker Fink was appointed by the league to lead the cap-circumvention probe. Both the Bucks and Trent's agency, Klutch Sports Group, are reportedly cooperating with the league inquiry into the fully guaranteed deal signed on July 11.

Scrutiny arose because the lucrative contract exceeded perceived market value following Trent's down season, raising speculation of a prior promise after two team-friendly contracts. While Milwaukee maintains the contract reflects Trent's actual open-market value, the team could face severe penalties if investigators find proof of salary cap circumvention.
