Loua Dipa wins Jugette heat to secure pole for final

Loua Dipa and driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr. won the $25,000 first heat of the Grade 1 Jugette for three-year-old female pacers on Wednesday at the Delaware County Fair. The filly secured victory by a half-length in 1:53.3 over a track labeled good. The win earned Loua Dipa the pole position for the subsequent $240,000 Jugette final.

I’m A Lou Lou rallied to finish second, while Darlin’s Angel placed third in the eight-horse field. Sent off as the 4-5 favorite, the Ron Burke trainee earned her fifth victory in nine starts this season and paid $3.60 to win.
