Trae Young revealed that front office changes in Atlanta led to his decision to leave the Hawks after over seven years. Speaking on Michael Porter Jr.'s podcast, Young explained that he felt less support after Onsi Saleh became president of basketball operations, prompting him to seek a departure.

Young landed with the Washington Wizards, where former Hawks executive Travis Schlenk serves as senior vice president of player personnel. After being traded to Washington in January and playing five games, Young signed a four-year, $212 million contract with the franchise over the summer.
