The Utah Mammoth enter the 2026-27 NHL season aiming to build on their first playoff appearance in franchise history after reaching the postseason in 2025-26. Led by offensive forwards Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, Dylan Guenther, and Logan Cooley, the team established a strong core in Salt Lake City under owner Ryan Smith before falling to the Vegas Golden Knights.
General manager Bill Armstrong reshaped the roster by trading JJ Peterka for two first-round draft picks, subsequently using one to acquire young goaltender Sebastian Cossa to support Karel Vejmelka. Utah also added veteran forwards Vincent Trocheck and Anders Lee alongside defenseman Andrew Peeke while seeking to address lingering defensive and depth concerns.
