Antoine Semenyo sent home from international duty as Ghana release statement

Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has withdrawn from the Ghana national squad for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Gambia due to a leg injury. Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku confirmed the decision was made to allow the forward to recover rather than risk further damage or force him to travel for scans.

Semenyo sustained the swollen leg after scoring twice in Manchester City's 5-3 Premier League victory over Sunderland on Sunday. While there is no official timeline for his return, Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca will hope to have the winger available before facing Liverpool on October 11.
